The Confirmation Statement replaced the Annual Return in June 2016.

The Confirmation Statement serves the same purpose as the Annual Return, as it ensures that Companies House has the most up to date information on each company.

The filing deadline has been shortened from 28 days for Annual Returns to 14 days for Confirmation Statements, but the main difference is that you don’t need to resubmit any details that haven’t changed. This means if the directors, shareholders and registered office remain the same, then they won’t be shown on the Confirmation Statement.
